Garrett AT Max update
« on: October 11, 2017, 07:31:10 AM »

Just a note
Several people I know have bought this machine for around $800
And despite the claims by Garrett it isn't any good in saltwater at all...in fact its just as unstable/radical as the AT Pro at the ocean.
Total shame as this was one of the key promised features that led people to upgrade

Since I'm not a beach guy I'm still intrigued and may end up getting one as a second machine to my Minelab SE Pro as soon as I can justify the expense.  I've been keeping my eyes open for a used AT Gold but maybe I'll try to pick up a an AT Max at a good price this winter in time for next season.

Don't get me wrong,
The max is still a good machine just not stable for ocean sands or saltwater
