Electricians
« on: November 16, 2015, 06:48:31 PM »

I'm looking to put a light,or 2, in the walk-in closet that's being built. The guy that's building it says he thinks the electrician will charge "around a hundred". I have know idea if that's good or not. It would be for 1 light but I think it might be better to have 2 since the closet is 15 feet long. It has a drop ceiling so I would think the electrical is pretty accessible

That sounds reasonable to me if it's for the wiring, the switch and the device, which will probably be one or two fluorescent strips. Doug would know better as he's an electrician.

My question is why opt for a fluorescent  light? I'd imagine a couple of Dome lights would work just as well. Granted it's a little more work, but if you wire them both together it wouldn't be that bad. All depends on what you want for a look.

Just curious Chris, is this at your new place or old? What was your results? I don't do much residential and last I knew only light allowed in closets were Fluorescents.
